Hi,
the ip is still online, but only on the active node. Therefor you have 2 ip addresses for each server. Management and channel. The management could you use for maybe rdp sessions. Channel is for heartbeat replication.
And the vcenter IP address is only available on the active node.
You could create a static DNS entry for your vcenter server to contact with the name instead of ip.
It is not possible to have the same active ip addresses active on two nodes.
